Why Rattana Counsel

What Distinguishes Our Approach to Estate Legal Work

Rattana Counsel is not a generalist firm that handles estate matters on the side. Inheritance law is the whole of what we do — and that focus shapes everything about how we work with clients.

Core Advantages

What You Can Expect from Working with Us

Inheritance Law as a Specialisation

We focus exclusively on estate, inheritance, and succession matters under Thai law. Clients are not passed to a generalist who picks up estate files between other work.

Fixed, Stated Fees

All three services are offered at a fixed fee, stated before any work begins. There is no hourly billing, no scope ambiguity, and no additions without prior agreement.

Cross-Border Estate Experience

Our team has handled estate matters involving assets and beneficiaries in Thailand, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, and Singapore, among others.

English and Thai Throughout

Consultations, drafts, and final documents are available in English, Thai, or both. No interpretation service required — our counsel work fluently in both languages.

Absolute Discretion

Estate matters are among the most private a person handles. We treat every engagement with corresponding discretion, and our document handling practices reflect that.

Named Counsel Throughout

Clients deal with a named qualified solicitor from the first consultation to document delivery, not a rotating team of junior staff. Continuity is part of the service.

Qualified Expertise in Thai Inheritance Law

All qualified counsel at Rattana hold credentials under the Lawyers Council of Thailand and have practised in estate and succession law specifically. This is not a sideline — it is the firm's sole area of practice.

Our team stays current with developments in Thai inheritance law, Civil and Commercial Code provisions affecting estates, and the international private law questions that arise when assets or beneficiaries cross borders.

Members of the Lawyers Council of Thailand with current practising certificates

Ongoing education on Thai succession law and cross-border estate regulations

Direct experience with estate matters involving multiple jurisdictions

Peer review of all documents before delivery to the client

Fixed fees for all three service types, stated in writing before work begins

No hourly billing and no additions without prior client agreement

Scope of each engagement confirmed in a written engagement letter

Pricing in Thai baht, with no currency conversion risk for local clients

Transparent Value and Fixed Pricing

Estate legal fees in Thailand vary considerably and are not always easy to predict. Rattana Counsel charges fixed fees for each of its three services: ฿4,500 for will drafting and notarization, ฿8,500 for an estate planning consultation, and ฿34,500 for comprehensive estate plan preparation.

These amounts are stated before any commitment is made. Clients know precisely what they are engaging and what it will cost before the first document is drafted.

A Considered, Personal Service

Rattana Counsel does not operate on volume. The number of active matters the firm takes on at any one time is deliberately limited so that each client receives adequate attention. Enquiries receive a substantive response within one working day.

Clients are assigned a named counsel who manages the matter from intake to completion. There are no handoffs to administrative staff for substantive questions.

Named counsel from first consultation to document delivery

Enquiry responses within one Bangkok working day

Consultations in English or Thai without external interpretation

Unhurried process — no pressure to proceed before you are ready

What Sets Us Apart

Distinctive Aspects of the Rattana Counsel Service

Intake-First Methodology

Every engagement begins with a substantive intake conversation — not a form, not a quote call. We understand the situation before offering any view. This shapes the work that follows and avoids time spent on the wrong approach.

Written Summary After Every Consultation

Following a planning consultation, clients receive a written summary of what was discussed, what options were identified, and what next steps, if any, might be considered. This is included in the consultation fee, not an extra.

Overseas Counsel Network

For clients with assets or beneficiaries in other countries, we maintain working relationships with qualified practitioners in several jurisdictions. Where coordination with overseas counsel is needed, we manage that connection directly.

No Commitment Before Clarity

Clients are not asked to commit to a service before they understand what it involves. Initial enquiries are welcome at no charge, and no engagement begins without a clear written scope and fee confirmation.
